BAHP Supports Diaper Need Awareness Week 2024
The Center for Baby and Adult Hygiene Products (BAHP) is dedicated to supporting National Diaper Need Awareness Week.
National Diaper Need Awareness Week is focused on drawing attention to the diaper need issue present across the United States. According to the National Diaper Bank Network, “One in two U.S. families struggles to provide enough diapers to keep a baby or toddler clean, dry, and healthy.”[1]
National Diaper Need Awareness Week is a priority for BAHP because it brings together individuals, organizations, communities, and elected officials to engage in important conversations and take meaningful action. The collective efforts that occur during this week help make strides to guarantee that every baby has access to clean diapers and the basic necessities required for their growth and development. By raising awareness and working together, we can make a difference in the lives of children and families in need.
This year, BAHP will support the efforts to make a change through two volunteering opportunities. BAHP Deputy Director, Giovanna Komst, will be volunteering at the Cradles to Crayons Giving Factory and Mitzvah Circle with members from the National Diaper Bank Network.
BAHP member-companies are also committed to the cause and have their own initiatives. Here are some efforts BAHP member-companies are making during the week:
First Quality®, manufacturers of Cuties® baby diapers, has been partnering with Cradles to Crayons® since 2021 in the fight to end diaper need. During Diaper Need Awareness Week 2024, First Quality will be taking action in two ways:
Awareness Campaign: First Quality will be sharing a diaper need awareness campaign in collaboration with their non-profit partner, Cradles to Crayons, shared across their internal and external channels.
Diaper Distribution Event: The First Quality team will volunteer at the Cradles to Crayons Giving Factory in Philadelphia, PA to help with their diaper distribution event.
rocter & Gamble’s efforts are year-round to address the ongoing diaper needs of families.
Pampers, manufactured by P&G, has donated millions of diapers to families in need primarily through their long-standing partnership with Feeding America, a non-profit agency that provides food and household essentials through a network of more than 200 food banks, 21 statewide food bank associations, and over 60,000 partner agencies, food pantries, and meal programs across the U.S.
Pampers donated over 2.8 million diapers to support families in need across the U.S throughout the 2023 year.
Pampers regularly contributes to disaster relief efforts as part of P&G’s Mobile Relief Program. P&G has a long and tenured relationship with Matthew 25: Ministries, a humanitarian aid and disaster relief organization that provides critical on-the-ground support in moments of need, including P&G personal and household care brands, to disasters around the world.
Kimberly-Clark, through its Huggies brand, is the founding sponsor of the National Diaper Bank Network.
Since 2011, Kimberly-Clark has donated over 300 million diapers, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to supporting families in need. Every day, Kimberly-Clark strives to raise awareness about the critical issue that more than 1 in 2 families face: the struggle to provide clean diapers for their babies. As a leader in baby and childcare products, Huggies is honored to support families across the United States, ensuring that every baby has a healthy and happy start.
During Diaper Need Awareness Week Kimberly-Clark is participating in diaper donation drives across the country, including working with Helping Mamas in Atlanta.
International Paper will be hosting a diaper drive at their Innovation Center in Federal Way, Washington.
