Executive Director
Bryan Nicholson joined the BAHP team in January 2022 as Executive Director and has supported numerous national and international trade associations and coalitions in his 12+ year career as an association management professional.
Prior this experience serving associations, Bryan served in various operations management roles with Amazon.com, Avon Products, Inc. and United Parcel Service (UPS). Bryan has a M.A. in International Affairs from the Milano School of International Affairs, Management and Urban Policy at the New School for Public Engagement in Manhattan and a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh. While working towards his M.A. in International Affairs, Bryan lived and worked in West Africa.
Bryan resides in Paoli, PA with his wife Catie, daughter Avery, son Graeme, and a cockapoo named Winifred. Away from the office, he chases his kids around various parks between Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., chases Pro-V1’s, and loudly supports the Chelsea Football Club along with his beloved Philadelphia-based sports teams.
Operations Director
Malaika joined the BAHP team in January 2022 as Operations Director. She brings to AMS 20+ years’ experience developing and implementing global strategies and achieving strategic outcomes in associations, non-profit organizations, and the US Government.
With 6 years of direct membership association management experience, Malaika has worked closely with 15 Boards of Directors, including their committees and task forces. She thrives on collaborating with senior volunteer leadership to develop and operationalize vision and strategy, and has successfully implemented strategic and tactical initiatives, including focused outreach workshops, conference planning, membership drives and board election processes.
Prior to launching her non-profit career, Malaika served for 20+ years in the Foreign Service, with assignments in sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East and South Asia.
Malaika lives in Reston, VA. She is a proud dance mom who finds joy in the noise, crowds and enthusiasm of dance competitions. She is also an active volunteer in non-profit groups, including the Princeton Club of Washington, the Princeton Prize in Race Relations, AMPS, a non-profit organization supporting competitive dancers, and Coming to the Table.
